About the program

 

Join our vibrant, faith-based agency providing innovative social care services to 14,000+ children, young people, individuals and families in the Northern Metropolitan Sydney and on the Central Coast.

 

We are seeking an Intensive Family Support Caseworker to join our Family Support Team based at our Waitara Family Centre. This position exists to provide effective, flexible, high quality intensive family support casework services to families who are currently at risk of having their children placed in out of home care.

 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing effective, caring, flexible, high quality Intensive Family Support casework services to children and young people;
  • Maintaining appropriate records and statistics to meet reporting requirements, which will include completing comprehensive case plans;
  • Working effectively within a child protection framework being able to understand, respond and address safety and risk for children and families;
  • Facilitating high quality and innovative group work for young people;
  • Participating in an afterhours 24/7 oncall service;
  • As well as other duties specified in the attached Position Description.

About you

 

To be considered for this role you will :

  • Have Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate area e.g., Social Work, Welfare, Psychology, Counselling or related discipline;
  • Demonstrate experience working and engaging with children, young people and their families;
  • Have experience in child protection work and knowledge of guidelines;
  • Have excellent communication and time management skills;
  • hold a valid working with children check clearance;
  • Have a valid NSW drivers’ licence and own car;
  • As well as other criteria specified in the attached Position Description.
