About the program


Join our vibrant, faith based agency providing innovative social care services to 14000+ children, young people, individuals and families in the Northern Metropolitan Sydney and on the Central Coast.


We are seeking a passionate and experienced Intake and Supported Playgroup Worker to work 3 days per week providing effective, flexible, high quality management of our intake process for the Family and Youth Support Team. You will also work 2 days per week providing high quality supported playgroups for children and families residing on the Lower North Shore who are facing various life challenges.


The Intake and Supported Playgroup Worker is responsible for:

  • Conducting assessments of families and young people accessing Family and Youth Services;
  • Managing the intake process and data collected;
  • Maintaining accurate statistics to meet reporting requirements;
  • Facilitating 2 weekly supported playgroups for children and families, including the planning of activities and interactions with families;
  • Providing professional and informed advice to clients; as well as
  • Other duties as listed on Position Description

About you


To be considered for this role you will:

  • Hold Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate area (such as childcare, teaching, social work, social science, welfare, psychology, health, education or related discipline)
  • Possess experience working and engaging with vulnerable children, young people and their families
  • Have demonstrated experience in delivering effective referrals, advice and information with families;
  • Hold knowledge of the needs of vulnerable families;
  • Have experience working with children in their early years;
  • Have highly developed communication and time management skills
  • Confident computer skills
  • Hold a valid NSW Driver’s licence; as well as
  • Other requirements as listed on the Position Description.
