About the role


We are seeking an Activity Leader to be responsible for overseeing the day to day operation of our Afternoon and Vacation Care programs as well as provide a direct service to participants, within our Disability Futures program based at Waitara.


This is a permanent part-time role at around 20 hours a week.



  • Developing and implementing specific Programs of Support
  • Lead staff and participants in program specific activities ; adapting and developing to participants goals and needs as required;
  • Provide feedback to the Area Coordinator on participant progress towards achieving their agreed goals.
  • Interact positively with participant’s families, carers, and support networks;
  • Undertake all required aspects of participant’s personal care if required;
  • Provide a safe environment and ensure thorough and ongoing risk assessments while supporting participants.
  • Oversee new client trial days and provide feedback to Area Coordinator on program, activities, and support set ups
  • Work collaboratively with the Rostering Officer to address service requests and needs.
  • Complete and submit records or attendance and otherwise in a timely manner ensuring minimum quality standards


  • Certificate III or above in Disability
  • Experience working with youth and adults with a disability and technical knowledge of disabilities
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients and families
  • Hold a current, valid, Australian Car Driver’s Licence (Green Provisional or above) 
  • First Aid certificate
  • Epilepsy management certificate (or willingness to complete one in the first month of employment)
  • Completing a NDIS Worker Check is a requirement of this position
  • A working with Children’s check clearance
  • Completion of the mandatory NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’ is required. Click here to access it
