About the role

This is a rewarding and outcome focused role working within our Intensive Family Preservation team for an experienced Case Worker.  This work supports the safety and wellbeing of the child, young person, and their families to break the cycle of disadvantage.  The work is delivered through trauma-informed, child focused therapeutic casework.

 

Duties

  • Provide effective, flexible, high quality intensive family preservation case work.
  • Provide comprehensive time framed case plans, case reviews and maintain timely and relevant case notes.
  • Participate in a rotating 24hrs on-call service.
  • Work effectively within a child protection framework, understand, respond, and address safety and/or risk for children and families.
  • Providing trauma-informed and evidenced-based practice to child and family interventions.
  • Knowledge of housing issues, domestic violence, child protection, child development and mental health.
  • Demonstrated networking and advocacy skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations and make sound decisions under pressure.

 

About you

  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or similar degree.
  • Demonstrated case work experience working and engaging with children, young people, and their families using a person-centred, strength-based and trauma-informed approach.
  • Have experience in child protection work and knowledge of the Child and Young Person (Care & Protection) Act 1988.
  • The ability to work therapeutically with a variety of client populations with complex issues.
  • Experience in group work and parent education.
  • Highly developed communication and time management skills.
